Hospital Turned Into A Ritz-Carlton Is Fifty Percent Sold

January 15, 2015

Since launching sales in spring 2014, the Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach, has sold out fifty percent of its units. Normally this would be just another fancy building that’s sold a bunch of fancy condos. You know, same old, same old. But, as Curbed Miami has written about before, the Ritz was formerly a hospital: the Miami Heart Institute to be exact.

The building is being radically converted, and redesigned by Piero Lissoni and ADD Inc. into 111 units and 15 “stand alone villas”, creating a variety of unit layouts totally unknown in any new construction in Miami. According to the latest press release, two-to-five bedroom units, ranging in size from 1,700 square feet to 11,000, also range in price from $2 million upwards to $40 million. One of the penthouses recently sold for a whopping $32 million.
